EARLY MUSIC & BEYOND

 

In the heart of Brussels, an enthusiastic team of specialists raises historical musical instruments from the dust. Would you like to discover the wonderful sound world of these instruments or are you fascinated by music from bygone days? Then the new "Early Music & beyond" department is just right for you.

 

EM&B's top teachers will take you on a journey through the music of the Middle Ages, the Renaissance and the Baroque periods and show you how today's musicians and composers are inspired by historical instruments. You will have the opportunity to play in ensembles and to perform in beautiful venues in Brussels. 

 

At Early Music & Beyond you can learn the recorder, the lute, the viola da gamba, the traverso, the baroque violin and many other historical instruments. In addition to the instrument lessons you will get the chance to immerse yourself in music from the 14th to the 18th century during the course of five thematic days. Passionate teachers and guest speakers will broaden your view of the historical context and the specific repertoire.
